When that was published (MAY 1964) Elwood Engle worked less than 2 years at Chrysler responsible for the designing of the "new" C body platform.I think the statue of limitations has long since expired!
What an interesting addition. Does it show competition, even American against American is good for all and keep your “cards” close to get & keep an edge? When that was published (MAY 1964) Elwood Engle worked less than 2 years at Chrysler responsible for the designing of the "new" C body platform.
The market was still very competitive among the big three at the time.
and "one-up on the other" was name of the game.
Elwood was still bitter about being fired from Ford and the designs he did for Chrysler he kept to himself when they were meant for Ford.
Basically Elwood gave Ford the middle finger when the 1965 C's were released and were a sales hit.
Hey I don't think that name is so dumb!I know Dad was awfully tight lipped regarding the new products coming out.
Back then he was working on the 65s in the summer of 63. Lotta overtime getting the C bodies done.
All the cool vehicles he was involved in over the years the only heads-up I ever remember him letting out was “Plymouth is coming out with a model called Road Runner”. I remember thinking that was the dumbest name.![]()
