From this car? It's too far gone to be worth saving but could possibly be a beater/driver with a little effort. 360 with a/c, '73 Polara Custom.
The 904 was used in smaller cars like the Bbodies and Abodies etc, when it comes to the Cbody cars they all carried the 727 box in different forms according to engine capacity due to the extra weight of the cars. What about the 904?
What about the 904?
I just decoded a fender tag for one of our own w/'71 Fury 318/904.
I'd be under the car looking for the dogleg in the trans pan to make sure, if there is none its a 727. A 904 under a Cbody, i havent ever seen one.Fury coupe....
Every small block Plymouth C body i owned or scrapped was a 727, my first 1970 Plymouth Fury was a sedan with a 318 2bbl bench seat column change and i had the transmission rebuilt by a shop, i actually supplied a 727 to the guy when i took it in asking him to change it to a 727, turns out it already had one. It was then i watched all the others that i came across and found all had 727's. i think i saw about 12 cars like that. So yes having 727's is normal but since i hear others say they know of cars with 904's i wont discount it, but i would still like to hear back from Matt on his Fury coupe.Without ever having done any research I would assume most small block dodge and plymouth C's were 904 equipped.
I believe a 727 will slip right in where a 904 was. Yes?
