From this car? It's too far gone to be worth saving but could possibly be a beater/driver with a little effort. 360 with a/c, '73 Polara Custom.

That's not so rare in these parts.

Front disc brakes for a swap? I am set up, just throwing that out there. 727 trans?

Would it have had the 727 being that it's a 360 car? I don't know much about these. I'll find out if it has disc brakes. It does run and the trans seems to work...
dashpad is cracked up but the bucket seats are nice.

They used 727's for all engines. Slant 6. SB, BB 727's are all different. They used 727's in AMC and International Trucks too....all those 727's are different and won't interchange with the Slant 6, SB, BB txsm's.

What about the 904?

What about the 904?
The 904 was used in smaller cars like the Bbodies and Abodies etc, when it comes to the Cbody cars they all carried the 727 box in different forms according to engine capacity due to the extra weight of the cars.

I just decoded a fender tag for one of our own w/'71 Fury 318/904.

Sorry, not '71 but '69. I just went through one quick reference book that I have with me and it lists the 904 as an available trans for A,B,C & E with a six, 273 or 318 from the early to mid '60s right on through the '70s. I would assume it was the standard auto trans that you got unless specified otherwise.

Without ever having done any research I would assume most small block dodge and plymouth C's were 904 equipped.

Every small block Plymouth C body i owned or scrapped was a 727, my first 1970 Plymouth Fury was a sedan with a 318 2bbl bench seat column change and i had the transmission rebuilt by a shop, i actually supplied a 727 to the guy when i took it in asking him to change it to a 727, turns out it already had one. It was then i watched all the others that i came across and found all had 727's. i think i saw about 12 cars like that. So yes having 727's is normal but since i hear others say they know of cars with 904's i wont discount it, but i would still like to hear back from Matt on his Fury coupe.
