Without crawling under my cars, I was wondering if the trans cross member and the torsion bars are integral with the sub frame. I'm considering dropping the sub frame out for cleaning and painting when I do the disc brake swap, but as all my experiences have been with A bodies over the years I want to get more familiar with the C body layout before I start taking stuff apart. I'm thinking that I should be able to drop the sub frame as a whole unit with T-bars, front suspension, engine and trans.......if I wanted to, is this correct? Anyone have pix of the sub frame out of the car? To remove the sub frame do you have to remove the front clip as well? Thanks for any pix and input.
Ken.

Yes and yes. The trans mount is part of the sub. There is a removable trans crossmember, but you can leave it in if you pull the sub with the motor and trans still in it. Torsion bars are in the sub too. And yes, the front clip will have to come off.

Nother question, if a guy had enough helpers, can the front clip, minus hood and bumper, be taken off in one piece or do you have to separate all the pieces?

Hood and bumper can stay on there too. Separate some wires and throttle control from the rest of the car
