What is the big seam on the pillar? If that a weld line that would have been covered by a vinyl top? And even if covered, shouldn't it have been finished somehow? Maybe body filler that came out when the roof was removed?

I have wondered about that on several cars. My 71 two door had it and no vinyl top. The seam was on the left side and obviously not as noticeable but, it was there

It's where the quarter meets the roof line. It would have been filled with body filler and either cracked and fell out of it's own accord with the top off or helped by whoever removed it I'd say

Looks very sold, wonder what the quarters are like, and around the base of the rear window. Pity wasn't a non-vinyl top car, running, and in California, I'd say I would be all over it like a rash.
