Ok so I have a Bank of America card. Had it for eons. Its a rewards points card. Got a letter in Jan saying they where revamping the rewards program & any unused points would go away. I think sometime in June. So I stopped using it once i reached a desireable prise from their catalog. Now I dont want to wait for their new rollout so who has the best deal. I dont need air miles, or hotels or rental cars. I like & often use local big box stores & gas stations. Home Depot, CVS, Wal mart, Hess, Exxon....etc.....whats out there?

Capital one has a good cash back (1.5%). Lowes has their own card & will give you 5% off, Home Depot will match that 5% IF you have a Lowes card. Home Depot will also give a Veteran 10% off if you have an ID.

BTW, AutoZone has a military discount. Most of the knuckleheads there don't know the code. Speak to the manager if they don't know it.

I believe most stores have a military discount, probably the same as a senior discount. Most wont give you both

I use autozone pretty much exclusively for that very reason. That and their rewards card is pretty decent. Spend $20 or more per trip 5 times and get a $20 credit.

I skip all rewards and go for the kill on interest and finance charges. I am forever going for whatever card does 0% on balance transfers. Three months ago Chase was offering a 1 point reward for them. I transferred 3,000 from a different card and made $30 on the deal.

try balance transfers first, usually a better deal.
