Curbside Classic review: Formals

Nice article. Let us know if you get a response back. A road test review would be interesting.

"Take the Imperial marque, for instance. Intended to move Chrysler more into Cadillac and Lincoln territory, it never really took off despite attractive design and plenty of luxury features. But for many, it was always a “Chrysler Imperial,” and thus not as prestigious as a Continental or Sedan de Ville".

- What the hell is this bone head talking about?, I've always heard people say "Lincoln Continental" or "Cadillac Sedan de Ville" in one breath. The two have always been connected to the Ford or GM, so therefore no better or no worse than "Chrysler Imperial". They need to get unbiased commentators at that website.

I'm getting nervous already when they drive one of my cars to the brake test during tech inspection.

Too bad you couldn't do the Rod Test & Review with the 4 speed. That would take them for a loop!!!

Well, I applaud any article that has C bodies as the focus, but there was a lot of errors in the article, not to mention the comments below the article...to be expected I guess.

Examples of errors- the 400 was standard equipment in 1978 on the NYB, with the 440 and 360 as optional equipment.
- the colour of the car he found was actually Spanish gold, not Golden Fawn.
There's more, but all in all ...nice try.

Paul Neidlemeyer is arguably the most devoted all around car old car buff blogging on the internet today. I cut him a lot of slack because of his all around knowledge and his enthusiasm to learn more, especially when he has made mistake. Ya GOTTA love the guy. Yes, I nitpicked that particular story but, let's face it. ferocious nitpicking goes on here, too.

Rick Erhenberg from Mopar Action knew about the car.

Mopar Action was super cool when it first came out. There was a guy there named Tony DeFeo who used to talk about street racing and building up engines on a shoe string budget. Even E-booger was cool.

They've gone soft now.

E-Booger is the smartest Mopar man in the world!

He sure is, I always like reading his commentary in Mopar Action, plus I think he writes for other rags as well. It seems his knowledge is limitless, but IMO the mag it self in terms of material coverage has gone soft, very soft. Guess it comes with age.

360 mandatory in California cars.
