dash pad is sticky

Simple green, Goo-Gone. Both are safe, once you are happy hit it with a protectant.

Usually when a car sits closed up for some time the vynal interior will do what they call gassing,it's when the chemicals and such that were used will start to be released from the vynal itself,,when I reupholsterd my 67 fury wagon using new seat covers from year one and carpet if my wagon sat for a couple of weeks in the hot AZ sun my interior would gas big time leaving my windows with a thin film of syrup that I had to clean constantly,,I'm guessing it was the gold color or the newer chemicals they used but the gold vynal had a strong odor,,

When I first got Jazebelle the dash pad was very sticky to the touch. It appeared to have had several treatments of Armor all, (one of the worst things to use on vinal), and I tried everything I could think of, Including simple green and CRS with no good results.

What finally ended up working the best was a cleaner called Lexol and then applying the Lexol conditioner. It still gets a little sticky after awile but reapplying the Lexol conditioner keeps it pretty nice.

Back in my younger & dumber years I used Marvel Mystery Oil on my dash, and door panels for a shine like no others !!!! I would then wipe it don with a nice cotton cloth and it seemed to be just fine. Now that was in the mid / late seventies and my dash & door panels never seemed to be damaged by doing that to them. :dontknow:

I used 409 on the original dash pad.....I thought it was dirt. The more effort I put into cleaning it the worse it got. I was rubbing the blue dye off the dash pad. Now I have another one and the damn bottom edge along the speedo area is coming unglued. So add a PB3 Blue dash pad to the list of stuff I need!

Especially on Di-Noc. Fade gone instantly.
