Some of these really hurt, I don't mind if the cars are rotted out beaters, but a lot of these look really clean and solid, not to mention how many good parts still could have been saved (especially when I look at what people want for those 6 hole cop steels, or bumpers)

That hurts! Black and yellow hardtop wagon was one of the few standouts in that group.

AHH.. The good'ol days... not a Vic in the bunch.

The Imperials were banned around here, because they could destroy anything in their path with the front end.

I guess too many people would load their cars back on the trailers before a derby if an Imperial showed up.

I have been bothered by derby dorks several times in the past wanting to buy cars, and the C-body rankings were...

Wagons... Formals '74 -'78... Slabs '65 -'68... Fuselage '69 -'73

They are idiots, yup no doubt about it.

The standard seems to be a lying weasel, and I will part out cars desirable to them and haul them in for iron and will not deal with the idiots any more.

One idiot was telling me how nice my '69 New Yorker was, and he really wanted to buy it to restore, but didn't want the engine and transmission... Five minutes earlier his buddy told me they wanted as many derby cars as they could get.

You wouldn't believe how many PM's I got asking if my old bumpers were for sale when I posted that I have new bumpers a few months ago. My old bumpers are on a green 78 NY'er right now.

I began to loath the whole derby thing a few years ago when while surfing I came across this 1970 Chrysler Imperial 4dr LeBaron (exactly like the one I used to have) in pretty good decent shape......no dents, nice interior, road worthy...ya know nice patina and all that.......was smashed to a pulp in a derby. The trunk had been totally smashed upwards...like an accordian...barely recognizable (by anyone not into "c"s of course). The guy had posted "before" pics and "after" pics.

I had a few offers to buy my old bumpers, I scrapped them, on purpose, Put them in the pile they were currently crushing, I watched them the next day. They weren't worth selling to a fellow C body owners, they had some damage. Wasn't gonna let a demo derby guy get them.

Nick
