WOW....!!!! I'm flashing back to the 80's and the many great shows I attended at the old Packard proving grounds.
I was active in the "Motor City Packard" club and one year, I think 84, we held a National Packard meet there.
The track was open and I did several laps in a 56 Packard Carribbean convertible as fast as it would go.
What a great facility.
Is the track still usable....? or even there.....?

Here's more info for the event.

To be honest with you, I've not been to the grounds and I'm looking forward to it.

I remember a huge annual show held there about this time every year. But that goes back to the late 70's and through the 80's. I think it was an AACA event. The packard proving grounds was owned by FoMoCo then and they maintained it nicely.
The old Packard R&D garage, track viewing/timing tower.... and the track itself. I think it was a 1 mile oval, 3-4 lanes wide and had some pretty good banks. The infield was an obstacle & hazzards course.

I'll look for some old pictures I took there.

This is this Sunday.

Thanks Bob, of course I will!
Will and Ellie may be in town for it too, I hope.

Not sure if they're bringing 300 or not, they're up for a family thing that I'm not sure was totally planned.
