Bad day today. I put a pretty good nick in differential carrier bearing journal. It's about an inch long on an angle. .090 deep at deepest point. Journal thickness is about .330. Is this carrier junk now, or can I use it?

If you're talking about the bearing outer race, just get a new bearing.
If it's the casting surface under the race, just sand down any high spots ...

Is this nick from something striking it? Just remove the high spots around the perimeter.

If it’s from a die grinder mistake then there won’t be any high spots and use it.
