I have a long mo-fo box from some siding so maybe it's long enough .. or a long piece of PVC.

I will have to measure but I'd judge 6 or 7 feet.

PM me your contact info if you are interested in it

It's a ways away but I can get back over there next weekend or the one after and get measurements and better pictures and will bring back if you interested.

I can't bring everything here to the house because I already have to many parts here and if you've seen the other pics I have a lot of stuff.

New pics from yesterday

Show's 101". I'm not sure if it's adjustable or part of the lengthy is counted in the spring or if the tape was not at the end. I had to recruit a neighbor kid 1st grader to hold the end :)

I sure thought I got a full length pic but didn't. It is straight to my eye. This may be a length adjustment?

I'm no radio geek but my CHP antenna is only 66" long.

Looking at those pictures the only thing hat might be of value is the antenna. The base is cracked and the ball and spring are readily available (unless that is a very specific model that isn't). I needed a specific GE/Antenna Specialist combo that was difficult to find. That looks like a more common Motorola spring ball and base.

Different frequencies. The wave length changes with the frequency, and the antennae length changes to match the wave length. Quarter wave is one quarter the length of the wave.

Thanks for the feedback Alan. That ring that looks like plastic is definitely cracked.

I'll throw out $75 to get the ball rolling and I have no idea but assume I'm high then.

I'm open to offers via PM please.

So this would be for a longer wave radio I take it. Which police units would use that? Hwy patrol maybe?

That length (102") is good for around 25mhz. Cops used frequencies in that lower range back when the cars that came off was used. Police and emergency use different (higher) bands now with shorter and loaded (simulates longer) antennas.

I really have no idea what frequencies the different police departments used then and now.

thanks for the info Big John.

If anyone is interested just shoot me an offer. I have no idea what to ask

Optimum radio antenna lengths are dependent of the radio frequency.
What is 1/4 wave for one frequency would not be 1/4 wave for another frequency.
E.G. CB radios: The ideal length for Ch.1 is different from the ideal length of Ch. 40.
All you can do is try to zero into the middle of your range.

Even the coax length affects the whip length. 102" just happens to be the universally accepted slap it on and go length.

The antenna is pretty straight with 2 very slight bends near the end almost unnoticeable
