There is this guy on Facebook who is restoring an old Chrysler racing Kit Car. He took these C body rotors & redrilled them for the standard NASCAR 5 on 5 bolt pattern. And he is using the C body spindle. This is good info for some one with a race car or Rat Rod wanting big car brakes. The Wilwood & Aerospace brake kits are awesome, but are super expensive & not as durable as the C body parts. Here is some pics of his rotor after being redrilld & racing studs installed

Go to the Kit Car page in Facebook & discuss it with Phil. I think he is a moderator of that page. Post a lot of stuff

Why re-drill a C Body rotor? Aren't Imperials already 5 on 5? Why not just find a set of those?

My understanding from reading his thread & subsequent commits is that he's trying build the car period correct.

But I don't see any threads.
I checked further with Google, so I don't sound totally clueless, but don't QC have some threads?

Good eyes... on closer look I think it may be cheap heat shrink tubing or PVC tape to protect the threads... I am constantly amazed at the details I miss that get picked up on around here.

I think it's just a paper sleeve to protect the threads. Reading his thread a bit more. Looks like he bought this Kit Car unasembled still in the original crate. It's an Aspen/Volare. He has been taking photos of all the parts to document what the cars originally came with to help others who restoring theirs to original. Looks like he also has two well used up racers. A Dart Sport & a Mirada.

Heck of a thread this guy has over there. This is a Franklin "Quick Change" rear that came in one of his other Kit Cars. What he's showing is the hubs to adapt it to a disc brake. Says he scored these at a swap meet for $20 bucks. Looks like he is collecting parts from all over the country when he finds them for sale. His building is full of old unrestored race cars & several of the street version Aspen/Volare Kit Cars. Lots of parts stacked up. Almost as bad as my place
