Read through some of the posts and still have a question about the proportion valves. Pulling the pieces and parts together, and the last bit of hardware needed seems to be a proportioning valve on the rear brake line. If I am following, the basic premise of the conversion, the stock drum brake distribution block is retained. The line that feeds fluid to the rear brakes gets the proportioning valve, to reduce the likely hood of the rear brakes locking up first in a panic braking situation. Perhaps this is oversimplified; but conceptually correct?. I was set to purchase the Wilwood 260-11179, as outlined in the conversion article.

Could I use the Mopar "TA" Disc Brake Proportioning Valve & Metering Valve (Disc / Drum Setup) as seen on the Ram Man web site. It would seem, that one major disadvantage is the inability to adjust the amount of fluid flowing to the rear brakes? But, creates a more factory appearance.

What the opinions?

on specifically MY 68 fury originally drum/drum- i cannot speak for any other model - has a 'combo' valve and block in one same unit.

i did not add any additional valve or pressure adjuster / regulator

thats all i got.

Can't comment on the "TA" set up, but I struggled with the non-factory look of the valve. I couldn't be happier with the results with the Wilwood valve. It was so easy to adjust. I nailed the adjustment in just a few minutes and it will now stop on a dime.

It doesn't jump out under the hood.

Do you want it to look right or work right? Unless his valve is calibrated or adjustable for a car with a similar weight bias as yours it won't do both.

I've seen his performance at Carlisle and I'd be leary of anything he has for sale that my life might depend on.

I used an adjustable one on my 73 disc conversion.

Sorry,, but that guy is soooo full of ****...
If the front brakes lock up the car will just plow ahead....
