Hey guy's, just passing the word. If you come across a guy going by John Rodgers in PA, DO NOT buy from him.

He claims to have a bunch of N.O.S sheetmetal, and work in the mopar repro buisness. He's taken my money, and sent no part. He has had my money going on 2 months, and will not answer phone/emails.

It was a craigslist ad.. Should have known better... But what can you do when it is that one part you have been looking for, for years?

I did call the guy up before hand, and ended up talking to him for over an hour. Everything from cars to politics. He claimed to have worked for chrysler, and recieved a ton of body panels from one of the suppliers. Had em for years, and now needed to liquidate. Yada yada yada... He seemed like a nice reasonable guy, however then you find out the hard way the con men always are.. :eusa_boohoo: lol

Last time I talked to him was 3 weeks ago. Supposedly sending my part to me, even though he should have a month prior.

I didn't expect any vigilantes to come forth, however you never know.... :icon_batman:

Im not a member on moparts... or maybe I am.. Its been so long since Ive really been over there.. Stan, you think someone over there might give it a whirl? Ive got one buddy in PA that might be close, im thinking of trying him.. However incase he falls threw..
 
My buddy is/was in Portage PA. Although, I heard he might of moved back to Detroit... So Idk, I gotta get ahold of him. Hell if I had the money, my *** would of been making a little road trip up there a month ago! It would be sweet to get a mob going though!! haha

I was looking through the PA craigslist ad's, and this one caught my eye.

Althought it says the fenders are located in New castle PA, the ad is pretty much the exact same write up as the fender I sent money for. Just a brief description, with no contact info. Also the Main description is the same. "NOS fenders for ---". Something fishy going on......

If someone might be able to make a stop, Id throw in a small finders fee. I don't have a ton to offer, but let me know what it might take. The bastard already has my money for shipping, maybe you could get that outa him as well? If not, I could send more $$ along.. would be fun paying for something twice! lol

Pinch pennies, sell comic books, start a lemonade stand or whatever you gotta do to scrape together a few buck and pay the SOB an unannounced personal visit......"Hey, I was in the neighbor so I thought I'd stop by"....or " I was in Philadelphia on business, got some time to kill thought I'd come by"...or some kind of contrived scenario along those lines. Nothing better for getting results or money back than showing up on the door step. CL is notorious for being chock full of con artists, crooks, and just flat out shady individuals trying to milk trusting folks.

I live about an hour or so from the seller's address....I'd be willing to go if a couple other guy's decided they wanted to have a go at it as well.
 
For me balls isn't the problem...........I still need my Security Clearance for a few years.
 
I think the word "possie" was bandied about somewhere in this thread. Either way it's called strategically mitigating the potentiality for uncontrollable and unmanageable risk factors to lessen unfavorable outcomes not in line with my near future goals.

If this scumbag's intent was to intentionally rip off people on C/L do you really think he going to post on C/L or tell you on the phone his actual address??? And if he is a professional scumbag......his real name and phone number isn't going to be traceable either. Take a deep breath, and look at this as a valuable lesson learned, and let it go. Besides....if someone does find him and it gets ugly quick and the scumbag stops breathing.........permanently...It wouldn't be hard to find you since it's all over FCBO. You are young.....and won't be able to work on or restore Mopar's from Pennsylvania/Florida State Prison.
