Great... maybe they'll come out with a two door Charger for the road... like it should've been for the the past what? 11-12 years now? I can't even keep track.
I never understood why they even put out a 4 four door "Charger" except that their lazy *** designer's used some other platform.

I like mine. Two door Charger would be cool, but after this many years, I'm over it.

Since the 4 door Charger came out I always thought it should have been named the Coronet.

They would have sold far fewer Chargers then and we wouldn’t have a Challenger.

I'm cool with Charger having the fastest production sedan in the world!

Plus the Charger styling I think is even better than the current Challenger.

You can thank the Omni 024/Charger 2.2 for taking us down this road, the hatchback killed the two door Charger, I've never thought of them as a proper two door. The four door Chargers look much better, and the second generation L(X, H, LGBTQ?) Platform looks the part with the hood and door indents.

That was my first thought as well, I remember yelling at the Car and Driver magazine when I saw it, "CORONET!!!"

??? You're kidding right? Did you bump your head? What in the world does an 024 have to do with the new 4 Door Charger? Did the designers lose all the pictures and drawings and heritage of the '66-'76 Dodge Charger... These 4 doors "Chargers" might as well be called Dodge Kodgers! LOL  Just imagine Bo And Luke Duke holding the passenger rear door open to help Daisy Duke into the back seat! "C'mon Dizzy... er ... Daisy... Make sure you don't flash any of your 'parts' when you get in... The fans will be running for the hills!"

I think the new chargers are great. Also turned out to be a great marketing move. Coronet is not a name that would worked in 2006

I'm just saying the two door legacy was ruined long before the LWhatever platform came to be. It became a name, and lost the legend.

You would think that Dodge//SRT Brand would have already started a massive PR campaign if they were going to bring the Charger back to NASCAR. That would be a major move for the Dodge//SRT Brand!

We can dis the Omni/Charger/Shelby cars now, but in their time it was the fastest Mopar available. Crude but quick. The turbos could hang pretty well with the V8 Mustangs.

It would definitely be nice, make a damn version of how Chargers originally were! I really hope they do and would love to see one on the road, Unfortunately I just don't see it. I'm not being a pessimist but the "new" Chargers have been a 4 doors since the mid 2000's. Anything could happen I guess.

Of course you all know I was speaking in jest about the 4 door chargers... I just wish they had offered a 2 door from the start. They were always 2 doors.

How is nascar going to explain a 2 door Charger when there isn't one available to the public? I wish they would knock off the nonsense and go back to their roots. Stock Cars. Not what they have now. There are racing series' from all over the world that race modified street cars.

C'mon Nascar get it together!

The days of factory stock cars has been gone for over 30 years. There is no turning back the clock. Plus if they did....the current engines are too big in displacement or have power adders such as superchargers and turbo. SRT power would be banned after the first year.

A modified NASCAR fuel injected version of the 5.7 might work. Its 345 cu in... so they might be able to meet the displacement limit on engines.

I think that with the dwindling amount of people attending and watching NASCAR races might keep Dodge out. Dodge// SRT Brand doesn't do anything quietly and I believe if they were planning on getting in competitively there would of been an explosion of PR stuff on TV, internet, and magazines. I won't say it's too late because you never know what Dodge//SRT Brand has up their sleeve.

Even if Dodge was looking to get back into NASCAR it doesn't mean they are looking to bring back a 2-door charger.
Back in 2000 they ran the Intrepid a 4-door, but more likely it'd be made to look like a Challenger.

I look at nascar as a bunch of R/C cars running in circles. Just snap on nascar designed/approved body, insert driver and turn left. There is no brand recognition anymore imo.
