I just put new front drums, shoes and hardware on my 1969 plymouth fury III
.but now when i apply the brakes it feels spongy.then i noticed the front bore of the master was low.then i filled it.is it possible i got air in the front brake lines.

Did you open the lines? Did you change the wheel cylinders? Was there any fluid seeping from the cylinders. The front chamber on the master cylinder should be for the rear brakes. Sounds like there is air in the system. Check the rear brakes for a fluid leak.

With the new shoes put in and new drums on, the shoes will need to be bedded in, how tight were they when you slipped the new drum on? did it turn easily? If so you will have to adjust the shoes up through the backing plate until they seat properly. Too much play there can cause the spongy feel you have.

I did not open any brake lines, all i did was replace front shoes and drums.before i did the brakes were not spongy at all.before i added brake fluid .i did hit the brakes noticed it was spongy then i reomved the master cylinder cap and noticed the front chamber was low with bubbles, thats when i added fluid.the rear chamber is full.

The drums went right on. But still has little drag.so i should still bleed them.
