How long do they stand at there post?

They change the Guard every hour on the hour. It's a marching duty. 21 steps then about face and another 21 steps. Everything is on 21's which is the reference to the highest honor....21 gun salute.

Here's a video of the Changing of the Guard.

The most professional ceremony I have ever witnessed on this planet...

Had the privilege of seeing that firsthand in June of 2008 on a family vacation back east.

My Warfighters have been guarding the Tomb of the Unknowns 24 hours a day 7 days a week since 1937. Hurricanes, blizzards, 9/11.......nothing stops them.

Watch the video in full screen to see the professional detail in the Guard Mount Inspection....

When my boy turns 10 and my daughter turns 12, we are headed east to see all the monuments and try to give my kids a healthier passion for what America was and is. I try my best, but being there and seeing that in person is a lot better then reading about it in a book. I think I will be more excited then they will be

I live an hour or so from Arlington and I go see it a couple of times every year. It has a special meaning to me and moves me every time I witness the Changing of the Guard.

There are so many heroes there.....do a little research before you go and you will be amazed at who is buried there. It takes all day to see most of it.
