Holy shizznit, it was deep. Fresh powder, three days of fun that turned into a bad situation. It snowed nearly three feet on top of the mountain while we were there adding to the previous snow. No base and heavy snowfall turned into Avalanche danger. Our group quit riding the day before thanksgiving and left. One guy died shortly after we left in an avalanche, two more were hit by an avalanche day after thanksgiving. Both of those guys lived. One guy deployed his Avalanche pack and stayed on top of the snow, the second was buried under seven feet of snow and the other riders located and dug him out in time. I know a couple other guys on here ride, so be safe and if you head out West wear a beacon at minimum and an avy pack would be recommended.
