I have been looking at these two carburetors for my stock 4 barrel intake. 1968 Chrysler Newport 383, here is the intake i have, and i bought the adapter for it already just trying to decide the
carburetor. Doing a mild street cam lifters and springs with double roller timing chain. this is the cam kit I am buying maybe this will help. http://www.jegs.com/i/COMP+Cams/249/K21-223-4/10002/-1

You know that's not a stock intake for a 68 383 Right? Its a good stock intake but not correct.

With that cam I woud go 750 cfm I have never had a problem with a 750 on a 383 especially 68 up.

Will it fit my 383 I looked up the casting number and it says 440 but there are other listings that say it will fit 383 , 440...

I did know it was not stock it said it was from a police interceptor when I bought it. Thanks for your help. Also another question, if I do this would the exhaust be ok, it doesn't have true dual has the y pipe, but I do plan on buying the exhaust from tti, just wanted to get this done first before that.

3830949, I have the B engine my vin has g for the fifth number in vin.

Hey i'm open to suggestions i am not set but I am on a budget so I can wait to save up. So is the intake ok or should I start looking for another, I only paid $20 for it, should have done more research.

Check this one instead. Looks like its a 75-6 400 4 BBL so it will bolt on but is spread bore. If you have your intake off and heads on just sit it on and see if it fits. If it was an RB it would not.

I bought the adapter for it, but I will test fit and see, hopefully it fits if it doesn't i'm out $20, and will maybe invest in a performer intake if it goes that way, thanks again for your help.

I'm not sure about casting numbers, never did feel the need to get those little white books, was it on the engine already if so it fits if not measure across from old 2bbl manifold I'm guessing and compare to what you have, same, good use it. I'm with Stan I think that comp has good race stuff and rollers but I am not all that impressed with their small flat tappet stuff. If you already bought it use it, my choice would be a mopar performance cam P4450993 is about the same as the one you mention from comp and still run pwr brake.

You would be better off with newer intake if you look at pictures of both you can see there is more volume and less sharp turns in later model intake. If you have any sealing problems with the rear of carb use the adapter you bought.

quick question about pushrods. All I can find are the non oiled pushrods. Is that what a stock Chrysler 383 in my 68 Newport came with.

I haven't gotten to that point yet but I don't know if it has ball to ball or ball to cup, all I see is ball to ball. Would I need a high performance pushrod with the cam kit I am buying.

I never have for a cam swap in a stock type build with hydraulic cam. I'm sure there are people who swear by changing them.
