Well sorta
Check this out
Chrysler/Nissan Diesel powered F150. I forgot to see what the high bid was on it. This is an original truck....sorta. It was built by a new start up conversion company & I believe the only one completed before the owner passed away unexpectedly. It’s backed by a Chrysler 727 auto trans. In the 70’s Nissan’s Diesel engine was considered by many to be the best lite truck diesel out there. Chrysler contracted Nissan to make Diesel engines for their D100/150 pick ups. Only a few were sold as they didn’t make many. Only a few dealers ever got one to sale. I’ve only seen 2. This guy who owned this Ford bought it new & knew of the Chrysler/Nissan deal so he wanted to start a company in Oregon to install the Chrysler/Nissan diesel & 727 trans in new Ford pick ups. It’s a one of one !

That's an interesting truck. I don't know how to judge it and I'm guessing the buying public doesn't either. Did it sell?

I don’t think so. Like a knumbskull I forgot to photo the stage sticker. I’d like to know how it ended up in North Carolina.

It might be interesting to know the source of the engine AND its build specs, compared to the later Mitsu diesel that Chrysler used in production pickups.

I think they made more of the Mitsu Diesel Dodge trucks. Still not many of those either.

It'd be interesting to hear how Chrysler got their name on Nissan's valve cover? Also interesting they didn't start using the Nissan name in the US until c 1980?

The cars badged here as Datsun was known all over the rest of the world as Nissan. The engine is appropriately a Nissan.
