A good friend in Sascatchewan she and her Dad lost their house and 12 cars in a fire including her beloved 1970 Chrysler Newport Custom 2dr, 66 Chrysler Windsor,66 Monaco 500 2dr,56 Plymouth,57 Dodge Mayfair 4dr hardtop,a late model Hemi Challenger and the family Ford Falcon.
Macy is not your typical 20 something young lady.
She is a hard core Mopar nut like her Dad and is going to school and working in a body shop.
Devestated is an understatement.
In her video with the charred remains still smoldering and crying she says as car people it is like the loss of your children.
Luckily nobody was hurt in the blaze.

The family will post up a go fund me page on Facebook and as a forum community maybe we can help.
RIP the wilson collection.

What a tragic event! That obviously is devastating to the family, friends and the collector car community. Thank goodness no one was injured or killed in the fire. Hopefully they can rebuild, but I know they can't replace what was lost. Our prayers are with them.

not trying to sound harsh here,
but just to clarify, her dad's garage burned down but it was another family's house that burned first and then started the garage fire ?
its a tragedy, but if you have a million dollars worth of stuff in a garage i don't understand why you wouldnt have insurance ?

Sad news indeed but if all involved had proper insurance they’ll be reimbursed. Very thankful no one was hurt!

I don't mean to be that guy, but with my wife working in the insurance industry, I've quicy Learned what needs to be done to make sure you don't get screwed, being sure that you're properly insured for not only the value of the building, but the tools, equipment and vehicles in it, plus having the cars insured as well.

A good friend is in fire prevention, he and I have talked extensively about what a shop should have for protection should a fire arise.

Unfortunately a lot of old buildings do not have that protection from the way they were fundamentally built, my wife's uncle Barry was a fire chief, so when my garage was built 30 years ago, he helped my father in law and they built it so that it has "firestops" and fire breaks in the walls.

It's sad to lose everything, but is a good reminder to the rest of us that we need to protect our investments

Some nights I wake up in the middle of the night and go to the shop and just check stuff out. I'm all insured and everything but it still wont bring everything back.

If I do any welding or cutting I hang out in the shop for at least a half an hour to make sure nothing is still burning.

I guess that my first thoughts on this is to not immediately start raising funds unless we know for sure that they had no or were underinsured.
Bad loss for the owners but they should be insured right? No criticisms but I have always paid more to make sure I am covered. I would hope that with this extensive collection that this would top of their must have list as well.

I certainly hope that they can rebuild their home, garage, & collection of cars to continue enjoying the hobby.
