Ok, I thought this was funny and worth posting. About 10 days ago my wife ordered a pair of shoes that were shipped Fed Ex. It took about a week to get to Phoenix from San Diego CA. They were in Phoenix and the next day they were out for delivery but never came. Checked the tracking and they left Phoenix and went to Henderson Nevada. Next day came back to Phoenix so figured we'd get them the next day. Nope, left Phoenix again and went to Salt Lake City Utah. Now they are supposedly headed to Phoenix again. We'll see where they go this time. Now on the flip side I ordered an alpaca sweater for my wife's Valentine's day gift. I ordered it on Tuesday afternoon and got the tracking info that evening. It was coming from La Paz Bolivia. When I saw that I wasn't sure it would make it by V -day but it was at my door Today (Friday afternoon.) 3 days to come from South America yet they can't get a package here from California? :BangHead::BangHead::BangHead:

FedEx Air vs FedEx Ground

One of the older gals at church sent a care package, cookies and such to a relative in Florida for Christmas. Last I heard it has made 5 trips between Pittsburgh and Florida. They will be doing good if they get crumbs when it finally gets delivered.

I had something from FedEx that made it to Albert Lea, @40 miles away. It went to North Dakota! It took two more days to show up.

I like the parcel delivery that has the live out for delivery watch. I watched one truck with my order drive within 200 yds of my house five times in one day before I received package at 6pm.
Amazon has them all beat by a long shot.

With the modern tracking, you get to see where your parcels go on their way to their destinations. My carb headed to Dana in Ohio traveled the eastern seaboard via USPS to Florida before heading east to Ohio for example. Most likely, this stuff has always happened, we just get to see it in real time now.

I'm no expert of how it all works, but it seems to me that the Covid-19 disaster, we've overloaded all the delivery companies, including USPS, to the point of almost failure, yet they still seem to be working. I'm actually kind of impressed that it does as well as it does.

Another story but this time it was

UPS. Years ago I was one of Ruokangas Guitar company partners and this happened then. One customer from US ordered expensive guitar for himself as a 50's birthday present. Guitar was ready in time and then it was time to transportation with UPS....and then all started :BangHead:...
Long story short, in the end customer finally got his guitar and he was happy!
First it seems like nobody in UPS wants to do anything but finally one person in Finnish office took care of it and find it.
Customer was so pissed off that he asked could he make "custom" Ruokangas t-shirts about this journey and that was ok to us.
Soo... let t-shirt tell the story
Regards
Mika
