Finally got to see a Chrysler product at Mecum's auction from today. A really nice looking '67 Monaco 500. Black interior with buckets, which I presume all the 500's had, but a classy looking C-body. Sold for $20,000. I checked the rest of the auction from Thursday and for tomorrow. This is the only C-body in the whole auction. FYI the '79 Plymouth Volare Station Wagon was a no sale at $2,500.

Beautiful, love the color combo! Hope to see more of these at the auctions.

I think on Thursday a 66 fury convert went for 12 grand. Nice looking too.

I'm selling mine for real this year. Maybe auction is the way to go.
It's a hit or miss. My Brother had a Ram Air3 69 GTO that he was restoring. He sold it unfinished. The guy that bought it had it professionally restored. The car really missed the auction estimates. IIRC it sold for around 30k plus fees. He had over 40k in it. The lesson: protect yourself with a reserve. The time and day of the auction is a big deal as well. Still, the best chance for hitting it out of the park is at an auction. Stick near the car and answer questions, don't wander off and get blasted, well until the car sells!

20 K in a serious auction is mind blowing for that car. Nice as it looks I wouldn't have predicted anything over 15. With the prices of the "popular" cars over the moon maybe attention is coming our way? Don't know if that's a good thing.

I personally think our cars may be on the up. Everybody knows a 60's Camaro, Firebird, Mustang... I like the fact that a lot of people don't know are cars, like the Monaco, so you sand out in the crowd not just another Mustang or even the other "popular" Mopars.

This is speaking from a guy that really wasn't exposed to c-bodies. It seemed like the only thing I ever really remember growing up, in my area, is 4 door New Yorkers. I think the 2 doors may be coming into their own. I'll be honest a little over a year ago I wouldn't know a 60's Monaco or even my '66 300 for that matter. These great cars have turned me into a Mopar guy and passion for the brand.

Absolutely, I give you guys full credit and thank you.

Nice-looking car. Too bad about the black interior though. ;) I guess you can't have everything.

I see this is on Velocity TV. We don't get that up here. What is it like in terms of programming? Who do they have covering the auction?

They livestream on the internet. It is a much more enjoyable experience than listening to the three bobbleheads and cutting away to five minutes of commercials every four minutes.

Do you have a site link to the Velocity/auctions Stan...? I was told by my satellite provider, (directv), that I could not subscribe to Velocity unless I had an HD TV.

Found it ....... google search...!

Thats how it happens. In 1953, at 6 years old, I became a car guy upon seeing a red 53 Coronet convertible in a showroom. I became a "Mopar" guy in 64 when I got my red/red 62 Plymouth Fury, and became a C body guy in 2001 when I found a 64 300 convertible.

Who is the short chunky younger guy that is really obnoxious? I can't stand him I would not buy a car through him, I would have to move to another section if he was near me.

That's dana Mecum's son, another Douche Nozzle.

LOL that sounds about right. He had to be related for him not to be fired already, he is like some sport fan trying to get attention, to get himself on TV. I always say I need a visual mute for him also, because when I mute the TV I realize that is only half the problem with him.

Does he have 2 sons? I know the one guy is his son that is taller than Dana, he doesn't really bother me. There is a short guy with glasses I think, can't stand him. I can't seem to find a picture probably break the camera.
