Finally got to take a drive...

Took the Monaco 500 out for a drive on Sunday, nice day, sunny and dry. I am impressed in how it runs and other than a few small items that I found it should be a fun summer. Its been so long since I drove something with a little balls that hitting passing gear brought an instant smile to my face...glad there wasn't a trooper near by to share that smile.:yaayy:

We have an oldies station up here and I had it cranked up pretty good, window was down and I felt 35 years younger...which still left me in my late 20's.

The car got a lot of looks some which looked confused as to what it was. Seems like you get a lot of them from the younger generation who haven't seen anything that old....the car, not me. I noticed a slight vibration at higher speeds, might be a universal joint so I will have to check it out. I also noticed a small vibration of the exhaust pipe against the frame somewhere...just another adjustment.

Car should be going in next week for the new vinyl top. I just noticed the ad for the 68 Polara, would my 68 Monaco 500 be considered a "Fast Top" also??
