Well after all the work with the A/C box I finally finished up with A/C parts under the hood. Replaced the receiver/drier, vacuumed it down and charged it up with R134A. I'm getting 42 degrees F at the vent. I'm pleased!!!

Not understanding that....
All of the switches I've seen in formal NYB's were black plastic. I have a metal chrome switch now.

Must be non Autotemp with a chrome replacement fan switch. What repairs were done inside the car? Verifying that there were no vacuum leaks or did you replace the evaporator core too?
5 of the 7 vacuum lines going to the first plastic block were disconnected. I don't why.....the cb radio guy was in there decades ago modifying the cb antenna and wiring with aftermarket crap. The dash bezel was broke and the dash pad was damaged and wasn't put back on correctly. The blower motor was seized up when I bought the NYB. Replaced the blower motor, blower motor resistor, blower motor switch, and the 5 button controller switch. I didn't have to replace the evaporator.

I used to drive my 70 Satellite Convert with the A/C on all the time .. and my 93 Dakota, my Dad's old 96 Ram, 99 Durango etc. I also love driving with the windows down
BTW Bob how long have you had the NYB and how long has the A/C not worked?
I've had my NYB for 3 years now. The A/C hasn't worked since day one. I've searched a long time for hoses and A/C parts. I ended up getting Benz Hydraulics in Delaware to make hoses for me. I've had to replace a lot of electrical parts too.
Well congrats again Bob! That's a while to wait and glad it's working so well now brother
