Fort McMurray is burning - literally

It is a devastating blow to many. 80,000 people evacuated and over 1600 home lost, and then you get these assholes hiding in mom's basement who comment that Fort Mac got what they deserved because they are the reason for climate change. Let's get those keyboard commandos to lend a helping hand and keep their damn political agenda out of it. 1Fury1 works up in the area, BTW.

My best friend and his elderly mother had less then ten minutes to gather their belongings before being evacuated. They are staying at my home for now but you can't imagine the horrendous damage they witnessed. Lived there for many years my wife's family were there for 20 years but all live elsewhere now thank God but many of our friends are still up there hopefully safe.

Looks like driving through HELL. Those are incredible videos, my thoughts go out to my brothers in the west. Stay safe

Stay safe!

Hate to see that happen. What a beautiful area!

Those videos look like pictures of the highway to hell! All those houses on the far side of the highway are now probably all gone, just makes you sick to look at them. However, my mother taught me that what doesn't kill you makes you stronger, so when the smoked clears we will rebuild!

Sounds like we'Ll be part of the rebuilding process...talks already going on and contracts signed l understand....
Been stuck in the boonies on another project and not seeing nada.....few friends up there and we're all sitting here yakin about it....lotta loss there lm hearing....sad news

What a horrible senario to be in the midst of. Thinking of everyone involved and have all my fingers crossed for some favourable weather to aid the fire fighters. Keep safe everyone.

I hope the U.S. sends help quick to help fight those fires!!!

North of Fort Mac is another fire and the RCMP have setup a 1600 vehicle convoy which they will escort through Fort Mac and down south to Edmonton. Fuel tankers are moving north from Edmonton and are refueling anyone on the side of the highway who ran dry. In Edmonton and Calgary everyone and their brother are collecting clothing, food, medical supplies, lodging and anything else that might be needed. Transport trucks are hauling tons of supplies north.
Times like this make me damn proud to be an Albertan!

I don't think I've ever seen anything like that!! Thoughts and prayers for all those affected by this tragedy!!
