These cars have always fascinated me. I've never seen one in person, but I have read a bit about them.

Dean Martin's Facel Vega.

I have never seen one except in photos. But I always admired the Facel II aircraft looking dash (the one in the Ringo car). Now that is what a dashboard should look like. Btw, it’s not briarwood; it’s painted metal (!).

There were a few of them in Rétromobile in Paris earlier this month. My favorite one is the Excellence, a 4-door hardtop sedan with suicide doors. Very chic for the happy few. The very early Excellence got the 392. French artwork with the best of Chrysler power. A bit odd at first sight when one discovers TorqueFlite push buttons on the wood-like dash and a dual carb air filter on a single-carb config, but that's what makes them so cool. The cars got several Chrysler V8 configurations, depending on what Chrysler supplied and on Facel's finances... Since then, French automakers didn't produce any car of that breed (except maybe the Citroën SM, but I consider the Facel Vega being of a superior class).

A pic of a white Excellence I took in Rétromobile.

Amazing cars, my friend owns one of these (-58 if I remember correctly..). It is long time project and
in order to buy parts (..and they are RARE) he had to first learn French!
He used to work in one classic car restoration company and it's always nice to talk with him about old cars.
These cars had a lot of new ideas, for example disc brakes at front and rear and so on..
Regards
Mika

There was a Silver Facel Vega running around the streets of Worcester back in the 70's. Strange to see such a European styled car with an American V8 rumble. Very cool ride.

Spotted in Scottsdale, AZ. a few years back.

That Mustang is interesting as it's basically a one owner car. His parents purchased it new and been in family since.

Even a legally blind guy knew what this was.
