Fuel filler tube

Anybody know what type of coating the factory used on the fuel filler tube? Were they galvanized?

The filler tube on my 65 Dodge Dart looked like galvanized metal. When I swapped out the old tank and sending unit I cleaned the filler tube as best I could using various metal brushes on my variable speed drill.
