I'm having an issue (well not really an issue) with my 66. The fuel vent lines are gone and the PO just put a small rubber hose from one to the other on the fuel tank!?? Could someone possibly take a clear picture of how and where these lines go please. I'm not having any problems with it running, just thinking these should be there? What is your guys opinion on this? See pic below of the 2 vent lines that are missing.
Thank you...

i wonder why. like did the vents clog and its too hard to get to, so just loop it back?

or does gas fumes start getting into the trunk or passenger area?

interesting.

what i figure, and i said this to commando, it should breathe out the gas cap, in my opinion, set up like this.

Car runs fine and I'm not getting any gas smell in the car. I have a vented cap, so I'll leave it alone. Thanks guys.

I'm too anal. I don't know how long I could do that before I couldn't take it anymore...

I know how you are Stan, so I understand. I'm like that too, but in this case,..if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Car has been fine without them.

The cars use a non vented gas cap. The 2 tank vents are to keep the tank from building pressure. One vent works when going up a hill at angles, the other works when normal driving. When My 68 fury had clogged vent lines I could here the fuel in my tank gurgle. When climbing a tall hill with the pedal down to the wood it would start starving for fuel. No more problems now.

I have an after market vented cap on mine. It's fine. Don't need no stinkin vent lines homey...LMAO!!!
