Rest In Piece Mr. Romberg. You will be missed and remembered by both the Nascar and Mopar community. :( :usflag:

May I ask what he passed away from?, don't believe it says in the article.

IDK.....the cause has not been disclosed.

He was 85.

Shoot. Guess we just lost another giant. God Speed !!!!

I’ve always wanted the 1969 Plymouth Superbird in my driveway. We passed on a 1970 model in the 80’s because the nose was missing. What a mistake that was in hindsight Lol!!!

Although I have never driven one I would guess if you do you can't see the nose anyways.

That’s pretty true Lol!!! Back then at around $3500 IF you could find one the nose was more expensive than the car. My buddy Jim had 4 Daytona noses and those 110% would not fit...

*Superbird was 1970 only. Dodge Daytona was 1969 only.

Interesting... When I was 17-ish, around 1990, a "friend-of-a-friend" came over another friend's house with a generic-gray metallic repaint of a 1970 Roadrunner. Someone noticed the rear window didn't look quite right. Sure enough, there were reinforcement brackets in the trunk. At the time, we thought the car was a hacky restoration... Not that we should have been fighting to buy it! I wonder whatever became of it?

Sorry what I meant was this unicorn. I’m sure it was crushed and lost to the ages. The ‘69 mule.

Enjoy...

Crazy huh?

Couple more shots. Look at the extra uprights in the rear wing. I believe those are just to support the mock up but who knows.

That’s all clay.

I’ve never seen pics of the 69 car all in one color. Yes that is a challenge Lol!!!
