I am going to take a look at this '67 Chrysler 300. Looks nice. What's the going rate for one these days? It's at a dealer and the price seems really high. $15k! I was thinking it was worth about half of that. Opinions? He said that he's open to offers.

If the car is totally restored, then IMO that's not a bad price, but a little high. I would think $10,000, but not $7500. The car looks really good, but fancy wheels and a paint job doesn't make it worth 15k. When you look the car make sure you ask a ton of questions and go over the car with a fine toothed comb. Checking for a lot body filler, floors, truck, check the frame, when and if the motor was rebuilt or replaced. Trans, what rear is in the car, gears. Numbers match and so on and so on. Also ask if there are receipts. Where the car was from. Did they get the car in this condition or did they have it painted. Really nice looking car BTW. Good luck with looking at it. Please keep us posted.

Also, did one search and this is the car isn't it? Just be careful man. Don't want to get ripped off. That's a lot of cash you're dealing with there! Find out if this is the car by asking them if this is an original motor or a Jasper.

Thanks. It looks the same, but the car I'm looking at came from the original owner in Georgia. I know this because a friend of mine bought a truck from the same owner. I will make sure though. I think the one I'm looking at is mostly original, not a restoration. It even comes with the original wheels and hubcaps. What is a Jasper?

Jasper takes in your motor and tranny and gives you a rebuilt.

impossible to value a car without a ton more photos and information..... it looks good BUT not at 15k

It's got to be the same car and its gorgeous! That $9,999 was the asking price when it was still in MI was a nice deal. They probably bought it for 7 or 8K and have an additional grand in shipping and fees etc. so offer them 10K and see what they say.

Commando1, yes I know what you mean, however unfortunately dealers are in the old car business to make money and there is always someone who wants a car bad enough they will buy it. My philosophy is Buy high and sell low a beautiful Chrysler 300 BTW.

This sickens me. The scenario you see here right now is what drives everyone nuts.

I'm not quite sure I know what is driving everyone nuts. I assume you mean people buying, doing cheap fixes and flipping these cars at inflated prices. Fast n Loud.

There is a good chance this is the same car that was for sale in MI. At least there is a place where I can post a photo and get some honest info. I do know that the car was recently purchased in GA. I will check it out and let you all know if it is the same car or not. In the end, we all know the car and its history. I'm thankful for the help.

Like I said, good luck looking at it and I hope you buy it. It looks really nice,... but just be careful and don't let them rip you off. I would go in at a low offer of 8/9k if the car checks out. Offer them cash.

I saw the car today. The dealer wants $14,900. It's a pretty car, but it has been painted, and the paint doesn't look very nice up close. Looks like some bondo and plenty of chips and touch up work. Rust around the back window. The trunk, hood and door fitment is waaayyy off. Interior is original and okay, not perfect. The steering wheel has been replaced. The original comes with the car, but its cracked. Original wheels come with the car as well. According to the paperwork this is not the car from MI. It is a GA car and has been there its whole life.

I told them I could not come anywhere near their price. I guess we will see what happens.

Well at least you saw the car and know what is up and what it needs. Remember you only saw the surface so far. For that price they are nuts. Seems to be a 4 to 5k car IMO. I say look around more for something that is nicer for less.

I'll pile on here. You mentioned rust, that makes the paint job moot and a waste of money. I'd say to a guy that can do a lot of his own work the car is worth 6-7K at the most. If you can't do a lot of the work like cut out rust and weld in new sheet metal then 4-5K since it's going to cost you a bit to pay someone to do it for you.
