I looked up the original address on my Cerita card and stopped outside for a photo. I also stopped back to Earl's home, who I received Goldie from, for just the cost of painting the exterior of his home. Earl sadly died this summer but he fortunately got to ride in her this past winter.

I also included the local drive-in theater, and stopped at a customer home and had to take a picture of their son and 9 month Dane, she matched the 300 perfectly. I thought of you Detroit Matt. The picture doesn't do the dog justice, her coloring is beautiful.

You do have some great history and stories to go with that car......

I would still like to learn more of the original owner. She had a big family and I am certain there has to be pictures of her and her Christmas present, she got it Christmas eve 1965. None of her kids seem to have stayed in Springfield.

You should be very, very, proud. This has got to be in the top 3 of feel-good car journeys in this forum.

Are any of the original owners still alive?

Both have died the original owner died in 2006. I just viewed her obituary again. See had 9 children of 8 still living in 2006. I had search the children's names again and I hit the jackpot this time.

They had the 3rd son listed as Samuel Bruce, I typed out his full name this time I found a Bruce S. this time with the wife of Vicky listed in the obituary. They had his name wrong or maybe he went by Samuel. I have a phone number and address. I am going to send him some photos of the car and the Certicard with her name and address. He has to remember the car he would have been 8 when it was new. She kept it for 10 years, so he was 18 when she sold it.

That's very cool to trace that history.

I wish the current owners of my Super Bee and Challenger would hunt me down since I can't find any info on my cars. I was a young man back when I owned the cars and never though of writing the VIN's down. They were just regular sports cars back in the day.

How many times do you think that car went up and down that first driveway in 10 years? Great looking Dane Mike, thanks!

The radials have to go first.

Yea they are staying, I like the handling too well to give them up, but you are right they blow the cover that it is not 1966. I might buy a new set of original tires and restore the hub caps if I decide to show her. I just want to driver her right now.

That just reminded me of a story I heard from the second owner Earl. He said that she admitted to him that it didn't do well in the snow. She could get down her driveway, but some times couldn't get back up. As a result she rarely took it out in the snow.

Her steep driveway may be why the body was so solid. It was Earl's 2nd car so he rarely drove it in the winter too.

The car and pictures came out awesome !

You ever think about taking Goldie out to the Drive In? I love going but haven't been for several years now .. I have trouble staying awake that late :)

Thanks, We were planning on going there this year, but it closes when the kids go back to school. We could have made it to last one, but didn't care for the first movie, and we are like you, we never would have stayed awake for the second.
