Gomer Pyle dead at 87

Gomer Pyle (Jim Nabors) died today. He was 87. The Alabamian was the star of Gomer Pyle U.S.M.C. and appeared in many other shows in the 1960's. He was one of the few people to get the title "Honorary Marine" from the Marine Corps.

Now how could you neglect to note that had his breakout on the Andy Griffith Show where he played Gomer the mechanic after Griffith spotted him and his unique voice?

Grew up watching Gomer Pyle USMC. Also one helluva voice. The parents had his records. RIP Jim Nabors

Everytime one of these guys passes it makes me appreciate that I still have my father. He's 87, that day will becoming too soon.
