I was wondering if anyone knows the whereabouts of my car?
So, I really hate to post this thread in a way but curiosity is getting the best of me. 1. I hate to know the car was destroyed and 2. I’d hate to know that it’s doing well and for sale because I have too many cars anyway.
In 1992 I bought a 77 NYB, 2dr St. Regis. 74-78 my favorites. The car was purchased new by the service manager Jim Arndt from Belvidere Motors, Belvidere IL. It was then sold to a lady who had it in AZ. Finally, my neighbors picked it up. Jim had wanted an Imperial but since those were no longer available, he added the LeBaron trim, eagle truck lock cover, Imp park lights and Cordoba pillar lights. Black with burgundy top and burgundy and white interior. I sure had a lot of good times in that car. I remember one summer day heading out of Chicago on 88 and setting the cruise at 100 mph, it just cruised.
Of course, when you’re young you are going to keep all your cars but when kids come along things change. My wife never pressured me into selling just thought I should so that I could get my first car, a long neglected 65 300 on the road. Also sold my 78 Power Wagon………. I thought why burden my kids with keeping the stuff I like; they’ll like stuff from their generation just like I did. Well, turns out the kids love the old cars and the farm has plenty of old Dodge pickups around.
Anyway, on the NYB, sold it to Bruce Biancalana in the mid 2000s who was into anything big from that era. He was going to trade it to a Mopar loving friend of his for a paint job. Kind of like trading a Cadillac for a microphone I guess?
So, if anyone knows of a car like this with a blue 78 step side Power Wagon sitting next to it, I guess I’d like to know.
So many cars I should have kept...
