I've purchased a 2 1/2" TTI system without mufflers for my '71 Fury. Originally purchased Flowmaster Super 44s of the correct configuration, had extentions welded on the inlets to make up the shorter length, then had the entire system ceramic coated black.
I'm getting older and loud exhausts aren't my thing much anymore, so i purchased a set of Summit Turbo XL mufflers, with the 18" body. I heard a few clips of chevys on youtube. Interested what they'd sound like behind a 440. Pics below. They seem to have no packing, neck down slightly internally, and the pass tubes have very small holes for "perforation ".
Has anyone used them on their C body?

I had one on a /6 for about 8 months. One day it just sounded off, crawl under and take a look and the whole side seam was blown out, I had no backfires or anything, it just blew out.
BTW, this was a 2-1/2" muffler on a 2-1/4" exhaust with a 2-2-1/2" tail pipe so there was no restrictions to cause any problems. YMMV Good Luck

I had Turbos on my '70 Newport with a 440. Worked well and sounded great... until I had a backfire. They did not survive! I would suggest using Magnaflows instead; they are designed to survive a backfire.

I may just throw the 44s on it. ‍♂️

Thanks guys

Funny… I’m looking for mufflers for my 77 NYB as well.. going with duels next week or so and need to make a choice soon.

Have 3" ones on fury. The longer case ones. Per engine masters turbo style really kill power though they do quiet it down. Summit says they kill less power than the name brand
