I know it is cool being it is a 426 4 spd car and "Looks Clean" but what jack bag F'ed the whole design of the car with the rear fenderwells that way. there is no way it is a real bid for that amount when the best offer on mine has been $24,500 There is an easy 5 grand to fix the quarters and that car in "prefect" shape should be $18,000. just ask the 65 indy ragtop fury owners.

I guess it was the easier choice of that or tub the rear to fit the slicks he didn't tell you about. Wonder why it is a "blue plate" and not a "black plate" car. And your car would probably be worth more if you had it documented by GG too :poke:

Radiusing the rear wheelwells was NOT an uncommon thing back in the day. Remember, these have very narrow wheelwells to start with. With this being a 426 4-speed C-Body, an owner at one point decided to do the work, throw slicks on, and go racing! I think this is a very nice car, and the rear quarters are fine as-is. It's different and not for everyone, as evidenced by your reaction to the car. But, hey, find another one, as they say. Hope it sells.

I would assume he is mistaken about it being an original blue plate California car. Since it says delivered Dec. 1964 then it would clearly be a black plate yet there is no picture to know so.

The bidder 9***5 is probably the only legit bidder. i***s is suspect, and n***a is truly a shill with 561 bids on 100 items in the last 30 days, 6 retractions in the last 30 days, and 48 retraction over 6 months.

The car sold in Dec 64 would probably have been issued a Black plate starting with "S" (SAA 123)
1. The car could have lost its plates in the 70's and needed replacement plates.
2. In the 70's they wanted personal plates (first available in the 70's Blues series).
3. Car left the state and came back in the 70's and got new plates.

That is about it.

Those are all givens as any California car nut would know. I'm questioning his apparent knowledge when using the word original which is the strictest sense is not true.
