If I were too rich and wishing to engage in immoral wretched excess in buying a used Hellcat, I would pay a dealer to download all the data from the black box first.

How about putting that engine and trans in an imperial with TT, Triangular link the rear with a square tubing chassis and coil over front...... Mix the old with the new!!!

Two doors down from my shop is a Motor Trend, Automobile, etc. publishing company office so at any given moment some amazing modern cars are up and down my street. These things have manufacturers plates on them and these guys are driving them like they didn't own them. The flavor of the last couple of weeks have been the Hellcats and Vipers and Let me tell you that the sound coming out of the pipes on the Hellcats as it bounces off all these square block buildings is otherworldly!

If you haven't made friends with those people, you really ought to! You could give an impartial review if they ever needed help.

:3gears:

I did tell a couple of the younger guys what I thought of the current generation Camaros and they haven't come around since...

Theres a Hellcat at the dealer in Starke, Stan... lol

Theres also a blue six speed Hellcat in the showroom at Ohara chrysler in Clinton MI.

Car and Driver did a lot of running around our place in MI. Not a lot of exciting stuff to see, but once in a while there would be a line of test cars all covered up that made you wonder....

There's a red Hellcat Challenger running around my neighborhood.

And there have been a couple Hellcats and way too many new Camaros that have already shown up at our local cruise night .... pretty common all of a sudden...

We saw the Hellcats at Carlisle 2 years ago. Mighty impressive. I wonder about this because 50 years from now, will there be women and men who can actually repair and tune these beasts? Looking back 50 years, I could tear a New Yorker apart and put it back together. Mighty impressive car back then, too. But every now and again I need a special tool that isn't made anymore. Will the computers, parts, and tools needed to tweak these Hellcat beasts always be available? And will people be around who know how to do it? I hope so. Millions of 440's were made during their run. How many Hellcats? I hope there is a cult following that will be able maintain the Hellcats and not just keep them in a temperature controlled garage. If you can own one, buy it. If you can drive one, go for it. If you can only think about it, enjoy and drool. PS There is one at Gainesville FL Dodge also.

I see quite a few Challenger and Charger Hellcats around here.

Where is there a 79% unemployment rate?

Number one..I hate the name "Hellcat" ..... Number two...if they really wanted to impress the automotive industry, they should had come up with a completely new platform such as a Cuda or GTX or Roadrunner not that friggin Challenger that they've been tossing around for the past 5 years. Number three, they should get the cars to dealers all over, not just the huge ones.
I've got a friend who has more money than God, that wants one, who lives in a small town and they just keep giving him the run around! Been on order for over a year now! He is a Huge Mopar nut, but can't get any satisfaction from SRT.

Ohhhhhhh and by the way...the color availability STINKS! How many green ones can they possibly make! Did they have a sale on JD GREEN or what? LOL

Someone take a Hellcat drivetrain and put it in a 68 69 70 Polara And have the fastest, Coolest C-Bodie on the Planet and Have a C gain National exposure.

If I remember correctly a lot of people were and still are impressed with the Hellcat.
I'm sure you mean a different body, not platform and from a manufacturing standpoint it probably would have been much more expensive to roll out a new body for such a niche vehicle. They had no trouble signing people up for a 700+ horsepower Challenger and if your friend truly wants one and has more money than God well then he should just go where there is one and buy it.
Lastly I see as many of the other colors if not more than the green ones around here and that is probably my fave of the vintage Mopar high impact colors.
