My name is Eric and I have been lurking on this site for a while now. Last weekend I purchased a 1962 Chrysler New Yorker 4 door project. 2014-03-23 14.01.20.jpg2014-03-23 14.01.31.jpg2014-03-23 14.01.39.jpg2014-03-23 14.02.02.jpg2014-03-23 14.02.20.jpg2014-03-23 14.02.36.jpg2014-03-23 14.02.47.jpg2014-03-23 14.16.27.jpg

Welcome to the site from the Motor City!

Welcome. Nice score Eric, I Know you'll find lots of FL folks here. Are you gonna restore it or drive it or somewhere in between?

Not exactly sure what I'm going to do with it right now. We have plans to bring it home this saturday. We will evaluate what we have sometime next week. It was sitting in someone's back yard and the guy couldn't get it running. The body is fairly solid for being in the rust belt. At some point someone did some body work around the headlights and there is now bondo cracking. The car came with a clear title and for $1150 I couldnt picture the poor thing sitting any longer. lol I'm hoping to get it running and in driving condition for a cheap family cruiser.

Welcome to the site, Biggie. That is a pretty nice car. Even the dash pad looks decent, and you just can't beat that "Buck Rogers" speedometer cluster.

Welcome Biggie. Yer gonna fall in love with all those push buttonz. Jes make sure your pointer finger iz clean when you stick it in your mouth wet it and say "NOW LEMME SEE" Jer

Welcome! Im in Belvidere. I think you bought your Chrysler from a guy in Rockford that I have bought parts from in the past.

Welcome! Nice score on that car... Love those instrument clusters! Have you fired it up in the dark yet to check it out?
Good luck with whatever you do with it and enjoy.

Im bringing her home today!:yaayy: Havent checked anything out yet, but looking forward to it soon. Not sure what works or doesnt work, but for the price I paid I had to get it. I did buy it from a guy in rockford who lived just off of Meridian rd. He had a couple old chryslers there but out of the two he was willing to sell this was the best buy and the best shape. My wife told me I was good at pushing buttons, I guess we will find out :poke:

Welcome from Texas!
Gotta love that "We are going to the MOON!" dash!! Has it got the 413?

yes it has a 413 in it. Probably not for long. Highest compression it has is 90psi and lowest is 30! Working on pulling motor now to see what it looks like inside. Unfortunately with a wife and 2 kids it's a slow moving progress.
