Hey. Iv'e been a Mopar guy since switching over from Buick/Old/Pontiac in my early teens. I loved the 66 Newport my mom had when I was a youngster, and the 66 Coronet we got when I was 15 sealed it. (although there were several buicks, pontiacs, and an olds in between)
I'm mstly a A/B body guy, but I've also had a 73 E body.
The reason I joined, is that I find some pretty nice looking C bodies fom time to time...and recently i found one I'm thinking about (wince) flipping.
Before all the hatin' starts, here's my plan:
It's a 67 Fury III 2 door hardtop.
Asking price is 1500 OBO, and the seller is motivated.
Factory red/red int, 318, a/c.
It's super straight, but the paint is way faded, the owner says there is "some bondo, and the tunk is rusty".
The trunk appears to have just surface rust on the floor.
...and the trans is toasted. The seats need recovered as well.
My brother in law is a pretty good painter, and I've been after him to help me learn how. This sounds like a good project for that.
I can likely get a trans for $100 or less.
Might even be able to fix the a/c with junkyard parts.
I think i could do a decent quality job and still make a little if I asked $4000-$5000.
Let's just say this is the budget-
Car- $1000
Trans- $100
Paint- $500
Seats- $500
You guys think a running, driving, shiny red, straight body 67 Fury III is worth that?
