Hi everybody.
My name is Dan and I'm new to the world of Dodge/Plymouth etc.
I just bought a 67 Plymouth Sport Fury which I intend to do a frame off resto. Currently I'm thinking resto/mod. I'd like the best of old and new. But I have time to decide for sure.
I've done a couple Chevys, the last was a restomod 69 el Camino. I sold that to a dealer in Houston.
I'd really like this one to be my "bury me in it car".
I'm hoping you all like to answer questions because I'm sure I'll have a lot never having had a Plymouth before.
Thanks all, and looking forward to getting to know you.

Hi Dan and welcome! Good luck with the restoration and would love to see a few pics if you get a chance to post them up please,

Cheers Steve

congradts on your upgrade to Mopar Dan. A 67 Sport fury is a sweet car. Love to see some pictures of yours.

No problem asking questions here, we have more answers then questions......
:thinker:

Welcome Dan from the Island of Long. 1st thing you need to know with Mopars there is no frame off ,because there is no frame .Most Mopars of that era were unibody.2nd so you know they didnt call it posi rear ,they were called sure grips, and 3rd the lug nuts on the left hand side are reverse thread so dont snap them off if your changing a flat or changing your rims... now lets see some pics..........John

Thanks everyone for your welcome. I'm going to try and post some pictures of my sport fury. Don't know how well they will show up, but you should get the basic idea of what I'm starting with.
Monaconvert, LOL, unibody was the fist thing I learned, I felt like such a stooge. I'd also heard about the left hand lugs deal, but can't for the life of my figure out what they were thinking of when they did that.
We have a very good hot rod shop here that does everything including raw fabrication. I took it to them to see about the paint and body work. They told me this car originally had a vinyl top, that's why the roof is full of bondo and pitted like the face of the moon. I'm shooting for 1 to 2 years and about 35 grand. I'll try to keep you all up to date on the progress and problems I run into.

Have a good one!

Welcome aboard, careful on your Resto-Mod choices, these guys can smell a GM guy a mile away.

welcome to the site dan. where would most of that 35 grand be going? if alot of it is going to be in body work i would seriously consider a nice southern donor body or the 67 fury on ebay for sale right now for 13 grand. looks like a mint condition car and a big block to boot. you could take the other 20 grand and play. and you could be driving tomorrow and gathering all kinds of stuff to have your dream come true. just my thoughts but something to consider.

Hi Commando:
As I don't have the $ to start the engine/transmission just yet, I'm thinking I would start with the suspension (front/rear).
If I get up to 500HP like I'm shooting for, is a resto on the suspension enough, or do I need to look into beefing things up?
I'm not finding a lot of suspension stuff on the web. Input/suggestions would be appreciated.
FYI, looked into the FAST EFI, Looks like that just may be the way to go.!
Have a good one.

Hello from Minnesota, Dan! Give me the $$$ and I'll help you spend it! Oh, you want it for your car? I'll still help you spend it.

I don't know how crazy you need to go with the suspension, depends on what style of driving you are planning on. My uneducated guess is that if you aren't planning on running at Leguna Secs, you should be fine with a stock type rebuild, maybe use poly graphite bushings. These cars already have bigger tie rods that A and B body guys switch to. You can get 500hp from a big block easily and fairly cheap.

Should be a fun car to play with!

Thanks LocuMob. Even though I'm shooting for around 500 hp that doesn't mean I intend to use often. I'm certainly a little too old for serious racing and I'll leave the sharking to Farm Truck LOL.
I put a notice in parts wanted, but if you all could keep me in mind for anyf 67 sport parts that would be great. My big problem right now is finding all of the tail light lenses. Seems to be many out there, but not for my 67. Can anyone tell me an alternative that would fit correctly?

Welcome from Virginia. Good luck with the resto. You've got a nice start with a good looking fast top! Looking forward to seeing your progress.
