I am having a good body shop repaint my 1965 Plymouth Fury III. This car has always been garaged and never repainted. Through the years, my grandparents put a lot of nicks and dents on it, and I want to restore it to its former glory! The color is an eggshell off-white.
The body shop called today and said they cannot locate a builder's plate with a build date and factory paint code. They said the VIN was worthless for this.
There cannot have been too many off whites for a Fury of that model year. How can I locate the code for the original color? Or should I just have them try to match the color on the unweathered door jamb?
Thanks for any information!
