Rollin' coal from a hemi.. Converted to run on diesel

The engine was built by Curtis Halvorson at Extreme Engine Development in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The bottom end is based on a Brad Anderson Enterprises (BAE) Top Fuel aluminum block that’s been fit with a custom diesel pistons and specially made billet-aluminum Hemi heads designed by Halverson to hold Bosch common-rail diesel injectors.

Holy cr@p that thing rolled some coal!! Neat idea converting that Hemi to diesel...Heck they already run enough compresion. Then you just need proper dished pistons, and heads with bosses for diesel injectors. Cool that they kept the big iron lung on the top too! Wonder what kind of numbers it put down?

Hemi's for Dummies: So what did I just watch? Was that an engine failure of some sort? I dunno so I'm asking.

Nice.......

No they converted it to run on diesel fuel and will run rich until the air catches up. Both diesel and nitromethane there is no fuel air ratio keep adding more of both until engine comes apart, once you know where that's at pull back a little, also both run better with positive manifold pressure to add heat for better combustion. That kind of a real generic description but you get the idea.

Crazy. I wish I understood the completion of what these guys did, but I love the fact that they are so innovative to say we are going to do it.

I don't know if testing the engine with the door open made a big difference LOL

More BTUs per pound in diesel and hemis work best with forced induction I don't think that would be to difficult.
