I've read about and seen History Chanel coverage of this but maybe you have something you can share. How do they get rounds on target at the exact time they intend them from different firing positions?
Sorry.
Thanks. I wasn't looking for National secrets. I think the US Army does an awesome job. I read too many WEB Griffin novels.Somethings I can discuss but a lot of things in Firepower that are relevant and either in current service or development that I can't talk about.
I can say that with heavy artillery back in the day ....we shoot into a box (same as B-52's hit a target) and you don't want all the rounds to impact one point but rather spread out in a designated box which causes more of a lethal impact and expands the kill zone exponentially. FDC (Fire Direction Center) coordinates all fires and let's each gun know exactly when to fire. I can't say anymore than that. Sorry.
It's all on the Internet, but you are not going to find it with just a simplistic Google search.
You can find everything that you shouldn't with TOR and a very good understanding of Boolean Logic
Quite impressive. Barrel length matters.Anzio Annie....captured and was on display at APG until a few years ago.
