So, this is my aunt' (now mine) 1968 newport convertible. Its in good shape with some usual rusty bits here and there. Unfortunately it is powered by a 2 barrel 360 rather than a 383 and some shop she took it to did some 'work' that has caused more harm than good. its gonna be a long road but i will have fun driving down it.

Wow! That is nice. I wish I had an Aunt with a great Mopar!!! LOL!!! Was it a 318 or a 383 originally?

Congrats, thats awesome! FWIW, I have a 360 that I dumped a lot of money into that flat out rips. Probably the best motor I have had to date.

Was a 383. You probably overread it in the first post. :)

The small block big block wording wasnt clear. Good question Bob.

Great car, good luck with it. Now, put the windows down

Even the Canadians wouldn't have put a small block in a car like that. 383-2V was the bare minimum.

Welcome to the site from the Motor City! Very nice car, congrats!

Very nice car, but sorry...just doesn't seem right without the original 383 sitting in between those frame rails. What the heck were they thinking?

:welcome:........ Great looking car........ I bet it wouldn't be to hard to find a 68 383 2bbl engine to stuff back in it......

If I'm swapping engines........440 4 bbl would be going in.
