How Cool Are These?!

At something approaching $250 a pop, I think I'll stay with my conventional floor jack and $39 jack stands.

I think that I will just continue to improvise !!!!

Rennstan might mean "race" in German, but I think it means sucker in English.

Cool idea - rendered useless when you misplace or drop a hitch pin and it goes perfectly down your floor drain. :BangHead:

I'd need to use some stainless braided fine line to tie them to each leg and side piece so they don't get lost.

I've never had a problem finding a suitable jacking point AND lift point on anything I own. I will admit it's probably more of an issue on throwaway appliance cars.

Too much messing around. I just visit the table saw in the basement and run a chunk of 2x4 across it. Two passes side by side makes a wonderful grove to cover the pinch weld area and then I'm free to decide where to put the jack stand. Could do this with the jack stand too if I had to.

Not a bad idea if you didn't already have a jack and stands. There's times when my floor jack is in the way of where I want to place the stand.

Either way, I hate being under my car. I'll use at least 2, if not 4 stands plus I'll leave the floor jack in position too.

Neat idea at first look, but ..... As an engineer I look at things like that and envision what can go wrong. If used on a strong, smooth and level floor, great. However on any slope or worst a gravel or dirt floor it sucks. If the car is sitting on ground that slopes away from the jack point, it would be real easy to roll the car sideways off the stand especially if both sides were raised at once. I'll stick with good quality square base jack stands.
