Dumb question but I'm getting water on the floor in Delilah from the hvac vents... what's the most thorough way to get to the drain tube to get any/ all gunk blocking it from draining properly? She's a 74 Fury 2 door hardtop in great shape. Any help is appreciated. - Desotocrazy

I have always worked a small diameter wire in it. If it is real bad you may have to remove the tube and clean it out. Just make sure it is water, and not coolant.

No it's definitely water. It'd happen when i had her sitting out of the garage after a rain. Now that i have her stored indoors, no issues. I'm just worried that there's sediment from 40+ years that i need to vacuum out of there vs just looking a hole up in there. Does the tube just pull out..ie press fit?

Some are just a tight fit, others are held on with a clamp. I don't remember on yours.

Thank you. I just checked Delilah when i got home tonight... it was a press fit. It's the end supposed to be wide open? Her's was pinched shut somehow. I think maybe that's how it was backing up like it was??

I just made an adapter out of some scrap pipe and heater hoses to fit on my shop vac, then hooked that up to the tube and fired it up for a few seconds....pulled all kinds of gunk and debris out of the drain. ;)

They are designed to be pinched at the end. This keeps air from rushing in the car.
