How is this car worth even what the bidding is up to presently ($4350) with 4 days to go no less? Interior baked beyond anything I have seen in awhile, rust in trunk floor and front pans, and harldly running from the description.

Interesting to note, that the seller reduced the asking price on Craigslist ad to $4,250, and then listed it on ebay. Then cancelled the Craigslist ad once the bidding reached 4,200.

I've inspected the car,..it's roached/toast, but restoreable.

It appears complete to me and maxed out on bidding. Beyond where it is there are others out there to be had

I got a 70' grill, but I am about as far away from you, as Saturn.. or something like that!

:-(

It is at 4.350 reserve not met.

I guess it will bring 5k$.

Why?
A Hurst still has a big name being a "special" model.
It has a 440 TNT engine.
A 5k$ purchase price is a cheap entry level into the muscle car world.
Even if you don't get to restore it you have a project car you can talk to and about with other people.
Kinda of learned that this is important for some people to be part of a certain group.
Despite that it can be a dream for someone even though the car might be a decade away from being on the road

I would have to make damn sure it has the numbers matching original engine....

Only 500 made.....there must be 5000 of these cars as often as they pop up. It's a shame that it appears that half of them are roached just like the SFGT cars.

Someone will pay $5,000.00 for the VIN and the the right to rivet it to to a car that will be 90% Newport.
Even the air cleaner housing wing nut will be from Herb's

And then your buddy Lakeland Lash will get his paws on it and have for sale for $35k as an ArmorAll low mileage survivor...when he is not busy at the park. LOL!

Well, about half of those 485 to 500 have been recorded. Their whereabouts is known, that is. The list has been here, too. - As to the number of those: I read somewhere, that there were 15 cars made for Canada. Which (according to that article - forgot where it was) would explain the often quoted total number of 500.

When the bidders identity is hidden anything is possible with the bidding true or false...

Hurst

I have one and I think a very nice one is worth in the 30's. After someone finishes restoring this one they would probably have soft 40 grand into it. That's doing most the work yourself. Send it to a shop in that condition you would get it back 5 years later with a bill of probably 75 grand. It would probably be the baddest hurst around tho :eek:s_dancing2:

With one day left to go on the bidding, it is now up to $10,500! I would have never expected that and I have seen much better cars for sale for less.

You know what.
I've noticed some stupid real estate activity heating up again down here.
There's a connection but I can't put my finger on it.
