A shop down the road from me closed up about two years ago. The owner just basically works on his & a few friends cars. I stop in to visit a few times a month. A year ago I asked him about the valve grinder as I've bought a few things from him. He sold it to me today. I thought what the heck. I'll learn to use it as I have a lot of heads I've saved from various cars I've parted. May do some port matching & polishing work. I did a few sets 30 years ago. The junk yard I work in had one to recon heads from the junk cars.

Yes nice score, your much better off buying old vs the new crap of today.
Just make sure it's tight.

I use to have a Rotund engine stand like this but built in the 60/70's much better build with the cranking mechanism in a cast iron housing.

Also a tip, use sealed goggles when hogging out ports with a die grinder, as I had a sliver of metal ricochet off my eye brow right into my eye using safety glasses with side shields hogging out a 2-Stroke cylinder many years ago. Went to my GP an 1 Q-Tip later RELIEF!
You may already know, but just a reminder it's been 30 years
