I got my wife a gasket maker for Christmas. She doesn’t know that yet.

My wife has always been interested in a Cricut cutter for craft projects and small signs. This year she mentioned it again so I decided it was time and around Black Friday there were some pretty decent deals. After a little research I decided to go with the Circut Maker 3 instead of the Circut Explore 3. The Maker will cut thicker materials like leather, rubber cork, heavy paper, poster board (think gasket) and even bass wood. So in her startup kit I added a thick cut blade and other accessories she is sure to need when she wants to cut thicker materials. Lucky Me these are the same tools I may need.
Any I got it but is still wrapped and under the tree, so I started watching YouTube videos on it. I actually watched an 1-1/2 hour video on how to shortcuts. Then a few more.
After watching those I can’t wait to try it out. I just need to be careful to not be more excited than her when she opens it.
It seems that if you learn how to use it you can make many things. It is only limited to 12” wide x 24” long for most things, but can go up to 18’ if you are using some of their new smart vinyl.

Will keep you posted on our I mean her new toy.

I bought my wife one last year. She's done quite a bit with it, including cutting some tail light gaskets for my 300L.

What we discovered is you want to cut a paper sample first as the scale sometimes doesn't translate.

With this, she then got into making cards (birthdays etc.) and I got her a press so she can emboss the cards too.

Oh... and one other thing... The Circut vinyl is expensive and there is better vinyl that's also quite a bit cheaper.
