The lady that ordered my NYB back in '75 came by the car show to see her old car.
Their were some tears (of joy of course). How ironic she moved to Sebring from Ft. Wayne, Indiana. Things like this make all the bullchit disappear and makes you thrilled you're alive to have this happen to you. We talked for an hour and she told me so many stories!!!
Made not getting prime position in front of the showroom worth it. They went with Vettes...

Did she know you were living in that area? Did she know you were going to be there?
She put the car up for sale initially because they decided to move permanently to Sebring after being snowbirds for many years. They were doing some serious downsizing.
When we both realized at the time of purchase the incredible coincidence, we both agreed it was fate.
They finally moved down recently and when they read about the car show they went hoping to see the car there.
And there she was.... :yaayy:
I don't know how old she is but she looks fantastic when compared to the pic taken in Indiana.

How kool is that? Another feel good story!

Great story...I have no stories at all like that about my cars. At the service station all I get is "Man, I derbied a lot of these years ago... they're great for bashing."

How cool is that?!! That is a very cool thing to have happened! I bet she was so glad to see you and her old car. And I'm sure she feels good knowing it has been so well taken care of. Just awesome!

Truthfully? It was as if she was finally reunited with her baby. And from the stories she told me, it was her baby.
To get her approval that I have done an unbelievable job meant more to me than if Mother Theresa had told me I was a saint. Guess what, guys. It's still her car.

Between finding the Newport and this....
Every cuss word I screamed out over the years has made everything worth it.

Stan you may have mentioned this before but was the 2 tone paint a factory option? In any case it really suits the car. Nice story. I often wondered about taking Nessie on a road to CO to see the original owner.

NYB's never offered a two tone. Two tones, especially black and silver were offered by Chrysler in the Cordoba and by GM in a lot of models during that era. I had a 'Buick with that color combo. I have always loved that combo and when it came time to paint the NYB, I couldn't bear the thought of yet ANOTHER silver NYB so I took some liberties much to the criticism of several people. I still don't regret it.

That two tone is fantastic, really a great combo, sets off the expanse of metal on the hood and roof but still somehow makes the car look smaller and more nimble at the same time.

Thats cool as hell, Stan! She does look a lot better in the recent pic. I hope some day I can run into one of my old cars.

Thanks. To the naysayers I simply say it's period correct. Just like your RWL tires which weren't originally offered on your car. And that stereo. And that dual snorkel. And that...

I figured there had to be a story with the two tone.

I really like it. Unlike a lot of custom paint, it works.
